Common Problems When First Using Your Hearing Aids
Why is there no sound coming from the hearing aid?
- Be sure the hearing aid is fully charged. Make sure the protective sticker is removed from the charging port on the hearing aids.
- Make sure the hearing is turned on.
- Make sure you have removed any ear wax from your ear canal.
- Be sure there is nothing blocking the microphone on the front of the hearing aid.
- Be sure there is nothing blocking the sound outlet (where the earbud is placed).
Why is there a screeching or howling sound coming from the hearing aid?
- This is a normal sound that comes from hearing aids prior to being placed into the ear canal.
- If the hearing aid still screeches while in the ear canal, you may need to try a different size earbud. When properly fitted you should not hear screeching when in the ear.
